Grants to realise big ideas from young ag innovators
Applications are now open for the 2022 Science and Innovation Awards for Young People in Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry! This competitive annual grants program supports young Australians aged 18-35 by funding projects that will benefit Australia's primary industries. In partnership with Australia's leading research and development corporations and industry associations, there are 12 industry categories each worth up to $22,000 (inc GST).

For the 2022 Science and Innovation Awards CSIRO is looking for entrepreneurial ideas that apply digital technologies and approaches to increase the efficiencies of the Australian biosecurity system from prevention through to management including market access and traceability. Applications must:
• Involve either a digital technology or approach to increase the efficiency or effectiveness of a currently analogue biosecurity process in government, trade or industry or, • Develop the idea in the context of the market and customers so that by the end of the award the idea is well positioned to attract incubator funding from a commercialisation pathway program. ✓ You're working or studying in an agriculture, fisheries or forestry related industry.
✓ You're between 18 and 35 years old.
✓ You're an Australian citizen or permanent resident.
✓ You have an original research project idea that relates to a significant, longstanding or emerging agricultural issue.

Not only could you receive a $22,000 grant to fund your project, but there's a range of other advantages on offer. ✓ Receive up to $22,000 (inc GST) to carry out your project over a 12 month period.
✓ Advance your career in research, science and innovation.

✓ Be invited to apply for the Minister for Agriculture and Northern Australia's Award, which recognises one outstanding research project, and grants an additional $22,000 (inc GST)!
